Shalini Forbis MD, MPH, joined Lander Medical Clinic/Western Family Care in January 2016. She is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and practiced at Dayton Children’s Hospital for 13 years. She completed medical school, her Pediatric Residency training and chief residency at the Medical College of Ohio followed by a General Academic Pediatric Research Fellowship and her Master’s in Public Health in Clinical Investigation at University of Rochester, Rochester NY. Prior to moving to Wyoming this year, she was actively involved in clinical patient care duties at the local children’s hospital in Dayton taking care of hospitalized children as well as outpatient pediatric care. She also was involved with training medical students and pediatric and family medicine residents. She is a researcher with specific interests in asthma and improving the communication of doctors and other health care providers. Dr. Forbis chaired the Ohio Asthma Coalition for 3 years and was actively involved in the Academic Pediatric Association as well as many committees at her University and hospital.

Dr. Forbis and her family are excited to move back to Wyoming and specifically the Lander/Riverton area as they have family in the area. They look forward to being able to spend more time enjoying and exploring beautiful Wyoming. Dr. Forbis’ hobbies include reading, travel, hiking, crafts (including crochet and cardmaking) and spending time with family & friends!
