Angus McAlpin, MD

Dr. Angus McAlpin finished his BA in political science from Duke University, then completed his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1999. He would then go on to a three-year Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital in upstate New York. After residency, he served a a Medical Officer with the Indian Health Service on the Navajo Nation in Fort Defiance, Arizona.

Beginning in 2007, he joined Southwest Internal Medicine in Cortez, Colorado and provided primary care internal medicine to the rural community of Southwest Colorado. He continued his interest in teaching as Clinical Instructor in Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is also an elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Areas of interest include cardiology and preventative wellness. He strives to provide quality longitudinal care through close, long term relationships.

Angus enjoys mountain biking, fly fishing, and skiing with his wife Ami and his four children.
